1. Never weigh yourself during or after Christmas day ;)

2. Good friends pick up right where they left off as if no time has passed at all.

3. There is nothing better than a surprise party that is actually a surprise!

4. People take holiday cards quite seriously.

5. I LOVE bonfires.

6. Well fitted running shoes are magical.

7. There is nothing better than being with both of my siblings - just feels... complete.

8. Any road blocks, annoyances, or discomforts are "all part of the experience."

9. Toby (above) is one big sweetheart and a trooper indeed.

10. Being "away from it all" can really put things into perspective.

1.   No expectations are the best kind of expectations.
2.   It’s best to be one step ahead at work, because sure enough, something you didn’t plan for always seems to come up.
3.   Making my bed as soon as I wake up makes me feel welcome in my own home.
4.   The trouble with talking too fast is you may say something you haven't thought of yet.
5.   Instead of cooking for 1, why not cook for 4? Dinner + lunch the next day and 2 frozen plates for some future meal.
6.  The White Face Lodge in the Adirondack Mountains is an truly amazing place with a large supply of fresh air.
7.   When a stranger does something nice for you, it makes you want to help out someone else.

Brunch at Kylei's
1.    Fresh bread, a cheese assortment, fig jam and a glass of wine is a perfectly delicious meal and has become somewhat of a tradition for our girls’ nights.

2.    Two people can look at the exact same thing and see something totally different.

3.    The amount of exercise I get is directly correlated to my level of productivity.

4.   All problems should be treated like boulder problems: Keep trying something new until you find what works for you.

5.   Too often I give people the “half smile” in passing -why not just go for the whole thing?

6.   I plan to make these mini pumpkin whoopie pies for a Thanksgiving treat!

1. It's a lot easier to react than it is to stop and think.

2. One free bonus hour makes a HUGE difference.  Thank you daylight savings.

3. Allowing myself a lazy morning is so refreshing;  it's absolutely necessary to slow the pace a bit. 

4. Happy hour is the way to go.  Drinks, good conversations, fun times with friends and home by bedtime:)

5. I often find myself wishing I had only 2 choices: A or B.  Are you a satisfier or a maximizer?

6. It's nice to hear about the jobs my friends do that are completely opposite of mine.

7. I enjoy having a creative project to work on and have decided to join the canning crew.  Stay tuned!

1. Sometimes it's all or nothing. Either go for it 100% or don't try (climbing is one of these times).

2. It is actually possible to resist birthday cupcakes at the office - imagine that!

3. Cleaning simply cannot be done without music.

4. If you ask a cab driver a personal question, you have really said, "You have my permission to talk my ear off for the entire length of this ride."

5. Being sick for a week really makes me appreciate my health and my energy.

6. Just because NYC has had a few "spring like days" does not mean the cold weather is behind us.

7. Gluten free is the way (for me) to be.

8. My new camera makes me look at things differently, even when I don't have it with me.

9. The author of my new read, Shantaram, draws you in very quickly and it is likely I will have my nose in a book for the next few weeks or so :)

1 Give me a PB & J and I am one happy camper.

2 Dreaming is easy, committing to follow your dreams is the hard part.

4 I tend to get extremely behind with my personal email, thanks to the huge volume at work – sry if I owe you an email J

5 Exercise gives me more energy than a cup of coffee, a bite of a sweet something, or even a good nap could provide.

6 Nicholas Kristof's Half the Sky makes my heart hurt for the sickening violation of basic human rights in many places in the developing world. He is quite amazing - you can read his New York Times column here.

7 Winter in NY is way toooo long. So so cold at the moment.

8 Airplane tickets get more expensive by the minute - book early or else!

9 Running outside > running on a treadmill.

10 Better mornings make for better days.
